SSE Audio Group identified in London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Europe’ report

SSE Audio Group has been identified as one of London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Europe. The report is a celebration of high-growth and the most dynamic small and medium sized businesses across Europe.

To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years, significantly outperforming their country peers. More detail on the methodology can be found in the report online at www.1000companies.com.

SSE Audio Group was established in 1976 and an audio rental company and has grown to become the largest professional audio services supplier in the UK.  The Group’s Head Office is in Redditch in the Midlands. Occupying 35,000 sq ft, the site comprises offices, warehousing and specialist manufacturing unit. SSE Audio also has an office and warehouse in London’s Park Royal and in Heywood in Greater Manchester, which is home to Wigwam Acoustics - a well established audio company that joined the Group in 2013.

SSE Hire provides the sound reinforcement for many of the greatest musical artists of the day. It deploys its multi-million pound equipment inventory help musicians play to the largest festival, arena or intimate venue.

SSE Sales are authorised dealers for many major pro audio manufacturers, supplying everything from a microphone to a full PA system.

Permanent audio installations are carried out by SSE Installations in a wide range of venues from schools and churches to theatres, concert halls, arenas and sports stadia.

John Penn, Managing Director and Founder said:

“Once again it’s great to be recognised in such a prestigious report from the London Stock Exchange. Last year we were pleased to be named in their report ‘1,000 companies to inspire Britain’, so be recognised again, this time on a European basis, is fantastic.”

"Over the last four decades, we have seen our sector grow from a barely recognised adjunct to youth culture that struggled to get support from the banks, to a vibrant part of the UK creative industries that are recognised throughout the world and contribute significantly to the UK economy. SSE Audio Group could not have achieved its growth and success without the skills, dedication and professionalism of our 140 staff plus the numerous freelance crews who work with us regularly."

Xavier Rolet, Chief Executive, London Stock Exchange Group said:

“If Europe is to have a sustainable economic future, it must back its engines of economic growth and only real source of potential job-creation: its 23 million SMEs. It is critical that we continue improving access and cutting the cost of finance for fast growing companies, giving them access to long-term patient equity capital to fund their enormous potential. This is an ambition we share with the EU Commission and applaud its initiative to develop deeper and more connected capital markets across the continent through the Capital Markets Union project.

“LSEG has long been committed to supporting high growth companies. Together our 1000 Companies to Inspire Europe reports, international growth market, AIM, and business support and capital raising programme, ELITE, shine a light on the fastest growing companies across the continent and their critical importance to innovation, job creation and Europe’s future economic resilience.”

Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President for the Euro and Social Dialogue, also in charge of Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union:

"Europe needs more fast-growing and innovative companies as they are the backbone of our future economic development and job creation. This is why improving the ability of dynamic SMEs to access finance is one of my priorities. We need to make sure that our rules are proportionate and fit for purpose. We should remove barriers to cross-border provision of financing and ensure that SMEs can tap capital markets across Europe."
