NAPIT are making their debut at this year's PLASA show!

Rachel Knibbs

NAPIT are making their debut at this year's PLASA event and will be promoting the importance their Temporary Electrical Systems Scheme and Training within the events and production industry.

Temporary installations are required at a range of both public and private events and the knowledge and understanding to work in this area is specialist and unique. NAPIT offer a Temporary Electrical Systems membership scheme to ensure professional competence within the events and entertainment industry, and to show that the person working on the electrical systems is assessed and compliant with BS 7909.

At PLASA, NAPIT's Regional Inspections Manager, Paul Chaffers will be presenting an Electrical Standards Update and a segment on Generator Earthing alongside James Eade and Mark Coles between 11.00-12.45.

As always, NAPIT will be providing expert guidance and advice on how to increase your professional portfolio by undertaking Temporary Electrical Systems training and upskilling within the industry, as well as educating clients on the importance of having trained, assessed and competent professionals working on temporary electrical designs.

NAPIT are currently the only organisation who are actively supporting the events industry by developing training, providing technical support and operating such a competence scheme.

NAPIT's Chief Executive, Mike Andrews said "We are proud to be the only membership scheme operator to be providing support and training to technicians and clients within the events and production industry. Our Temporary Electrical Systems scheme and training course gives installers the oppourtunity to broaden their skills as well as their professional portfolio. More importantly, it gives clients within the sector the peace of mind that all electrical work carried out for their occasion has been completed by an approved and qualified NAPIT member. NAPIT is firmly committed to improving standards and safety in as many areas of the industry as as possible, and we hope to make this a contractual requirement as the scheme develops further."

Event organisers and other potential clients can search for a compliant NAPIT member at www.napit.org.uk.
