The elephant in the room – sustainable procurement and the VE process

Enthusiasm and encouragement for sustainability are found across all sectors, but the elephant in the room is the Value Engineering (VE) process.
When a project needs to apply serious cost savings, the sustainable elements are often compromised. This means the building does not end up functioning as originally intended, leaving the client with a long-term problem.
The panel will ask questions such as: with advances in technology, innovation, and manufacturing, can we update the VE process? What are the commercial pressures driving this?; And, with technology lasting much longer how we can take advantage of this and deliver beautiful venues sustainably?
Session type: Venues, Sustainability, Project Management
