SUSTAINABILITY

Our venue Olympia and our official show contractor Freeman operate strict waste management procedures meaning that nothing goes to landfill, with non-recyclable materials being used as waste energy. Even the hall carpet is recycled into new carpet! Both Olympia and Freeman have ISO 20121 certification.

Olympia strives to save energy with low energy hand dryers and energy saving light bulbs across the venue. Additionally, they have a temperature monitoring system in place to reduce unnecessary heating and air conditioning. Outside, their online vehicle management system reduces congestion and helps to improve the local air quality. 

In 2018, PLASA decided to stop issuing plastic badge holders to reduce plastic waste. Also, the show catalogues are printed by an FSC accredited print management company, meaning that the paper source is always sustainable, and PLASA continually monitors leftover literature to not over-print the following year.
