The Traitors - From TV To Live Experience
What does it take to unite creative, lighting, sound, and show logic programming teams around a single, highly complex live experience?
How did a cross-disciplinary team bring one of television’s biggest formats to life as a fully self-sufficient, scalable live attraction?
When the team set out to create The Traitors Live Experience, the ambition was clear: deliver the tension, strategy, and drama of the hit TV show in a fully immersive, repeatable live format — night after night, room after room.
What followed was a collaboration unlike any other.
The session brings together the creative, lighting, sound, and show control programming teams to pull back the curtain on how the attraction was designed, built, and ultimately brought to life by the people closest to it — the performers themselves. Because at the heart of this experience is a simple but powerful idea: the actors run the show. Every lighting cue, soundscape, and dramatic beat is in their hands, allowing them to stay fully present in the experience and respond to each audience naturally, without waiting for an external operator.
This session offers an honest account of the process, challenges, and decisions behind The Traitors Live Experience.
We’ll explore how the approach shaped every technical decision, from the design of an intuitive show control system built around the needs of the cast, to the challenge of building eight simultaneous Round Tables — each hosting up to 14 players — that feel unique and alive, whilst remaining part of one coherent experience. Crucially, the architecture doesn’t stop at eight. The system is built to scale, whether that means a single intimate room or a vast multi-table arena event.
Overseeing it all? Just one show controller, able to monitor and support every room simultaneously.
Expect practical insights into cross-discipline collaboration and the trade-offs involved in building for both artistic and operational goals.
Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how complex creative and technical disciplines can unite around a shared vision, and how empowering performers to drive the show themselves can unlock both a richer audience experience and a smarter operational model.
