How Can Research Benefit Us? Demystifying The World Of Academia And R&D
Everything you need to know about getting those "I wish we knew.." questions investigated.
Got a nagging question about sound, hearing health or audience experience that’s never quite been resolved? This workshop is all about turning those “I wish we knew…” moments into real research and development projects, without needing to be an academic or write a 40-page grant proposal.
We’ll walk through how to shape a good question, find the right collaborators and plug into the support on offer through organisations like the HELA Research Cooperative, the research arm of HELA Initiative, focused on safe, sustainable sound at live events. Whether you’re mixing FOH, running a venue, making kit or dealing with complaints from neighbours, you’re exactly the sort of person we want in the room. Even if your question is on a completely unrelated topic, we’ll try to help out!
Hosted by Adam Hill and Jon Burton from HELA Initiative, this session is part of the HELA Research Cooperative’s current call for industry partners and pilot projects. Bring your curiosity, your real-world problems and a couple of “I wish we knew…” ideas – we’ll help you figure out what to do with them next.
Who is this session for?
Anyone interested in doing research; industry professionals, academics and everyone in between!
This seminar is free to attend with a show entry badge. Seminars operate on a walk-in basis, so be sure to arrive in good time as seats are first-come-first-served.
