Christian is the Technical Services Director at The Old Vic and the Co-Chair of the Theatre Green Book Buildings Committee.

At The Old Vic, he’s responsible for the running of the technical department and team along with the maintenance and compliance of all technical systems, health & safety and sustainability. The Old Vic is currently on its journey to a net zero pathway and Christian part of the team forming this pathway.

Prior to Christian joining The Old Vic, he worked for Charcoalblue Theatre Consultants as a Team Leader and was the Sustainability Coordinator.

Christian worked on many projects across the globe during his 7 ½ years with Charcoalblue. His projects range from The Sondheim Theatre, ABBA Voyage, BAFTA, Hertford Beam and The Eden Project Dundee.

As the Sustainability Coordinator, Christian was responsible for setting up the environmental sustainability strategy, training all staff in Carbon Literacy, creating a bespoke offsetting scheme and engaging with manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and designers to discuss low carbon impact designs.

Christian also spent 12 years at Sadler’s Wells theatre, six as the Technical Manager. Whilst at Sadler’s, Christian was part of the 2014/15 refurbishment works which centred around sustainability and longevity.
