Josh has been actively contributing to the lighting industry for more than thirty years. He held the position of principal consultant with Theatre Consultants Collaborative (TCC), where for over a decade, and as member of the American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC), he consulted on the design of hundreds of performing arts venues throughout the United States, Canada, and beyond.

In 2016, Josh founded 3LR Design, Inc. (now rebranded as DUAL, Ltd.) - a firm specialising in a cohesive design approach for Entertainment, Cruise, Architectural, Themed Environments, Attractions and Immersive Experience. His projects have ranged from ship-wide lighting and controls systems designs for Carnival Cruise Lines and Viking River 
Cruises, multitudes of professional and educational facilities, performing arts and sporting venues, houses of worship, television and broadcast studios, and museums, to providing the lighting specifications and documentation for the new MGM Las Vegas Sphere - and everything in between. 

Josh has been published in numerous trade publications, including Live Design, Stage Directions, Church Production, LSA, and USITT Protocol, and has led panels and sessions at tradeshows that include LDI, Lightfair International, AIA, USITT, and PLASA. 

In 2026, Josh rebranded 3LR Design to form DUAL, Ltd. in the UK with his business partner Alexis Durie, allowing the design studio to expand into other sectors orbiting the entertainment industry, while addressing brand loyalty issues between manufacturers and specifiers, and launching a studio to build SaaS applications and develop new technology products.
