Although well known in the lighting industry for the 32 years he spent as sales director and shareholder of Avolites, Steve started in the lighting control industry in 1982 working to create an early automated PAR can fixture. From 1984 onwards Steve worked as wire-man, production engineer, technical service manager and finally as sales director of Avolites. With experience of large-scale touring shows — including the Rolling Stones, U2, Prince and Madonna — Steve will share his involvement and insight into significant developments in the industry. This will include the first processor driven lighting controller, the ground breaking Hippodrome lighting controller and the transition into DMX and networking for lighting control.
