Tom Harper
A member of the pioneer 2014 Circular Economy MBA cohort, Tom has consistently championed sustainable transformation within the live production industry, where he was able to apply theory in the practical business setting of Unusual.
Subsequently, Unusual’s leadership and vision were recognised on a global stage when they were selected in 2017 as a finalist in the prestigious World Economic Forum Circulars Awards. Tom is also an active thought leader, contributing articles on the circular economy to publications such as Beam Magazine and Sightlines.
In 2025, under Tom’s guidance, Unusual’s new headquarters received regional, national, and “Best of the Best” awards for its circular economy-focused design, outperforming major organisations including Santander and JP Morgan.
Beyond his role at Unusual, Tom was a founding member of the Sustainability in Production Alliance and a strong supporter of the Theatre Green Book, advocating for industry-wide standards in sustainable practice.
As CEO and Circular Economy Lead, Tom continues to focus on accelerating the transition to a fully circular economy within the live production sector, while also embedding the principles of ethical citizenship at the heart of Unusual Industries.
