Richard started his career touring and then at the Theatre Royal Stratford East before joining the National Theatre at the Old Vic and then in their new building on the South Bank. As a generation of commercial shows started demanding more technical support he and Martin McCallum left the National and set up The Production Office, providing production management services to shows including Cats, Starlight Express, Mutiny and others. He’s been doing the same thing ever since, with a resume that includes Crazy for You, Jesus Christ Superstar, Saturday Night Fever, Fosse, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sinatra and Wicked. Richard received a Special Recognition Olivier Award in 2017, reflecting his long and successful career.
